We’ve all been there…stuck in automated phone system hell with no idea how to get to a person who can actually help. Fortunately, there are two internet resources that will help you circumvent the endless phone menus, and connect with a real live person.
So whether you’re trying to reach the airlines about business or personal travel, your phone company, your car leasing company, software support, PC support or trying to reach a government office… these resources will save you tons of time and aggravation.

This site is a bare bones, no advertising, no distraction listing of companies, numbers, and instructions for what to do to get to a person from the automated menus. Click a category at the top, or just scroll down the page. A $ link takes you to a public company’s stock profile, an @ opens your email program with the company’s contact email, and a linked phone number takes you to the company’s "contact us" page.

This site is based on the Get Human Database, but takes it several steps further. It has a larger list of companies than the original (so if you don’t find the company you need on that list, try this one), and provides phone numbers and instructions for navigating through the automated menus to get to a person. The site also provides customer service rankings for the companies it lists, and enables you to add your rank. It also has a blog where you can share your customer service nightmares, and positive experiences, with others. Note that this site contains advertising.
