The Opportunity:
Sunrise Dental Care is a popular dental practice in Geneva, Illinios, which offers its patients “Practically Pain Free Dental Care,” with its goals to make pain, fear, and anxiety associated with going to the dentist a thing of the past. Another top focus of Sunrise Dental Care is to provide affordable dentistry for the entire family. The company has found that putting off dental care has led to some disastrous dental experiences that could have easily been avoided if patients had come in and received minimal care. As a result, insurance is accepted and flexible payment options are offered to allow patients to draw out payments for as much as five years.
Wanting to offer its patients every possible option to pay on their timeline, Sunrise Dental Care began utilizing the services of a leading personal financing company in the dental space. While they did enable flexible payment options for the patients, the services cost Sunrise Dental Care 10% of the overall fees, equal to $40,000 in 2007. Paula Osmanski, Office Administrator for Sunrise Dental Care, decided to see if there was a way the company could continue to offer such an important service to its customers in a way that would cost the practice less.
The Solution:

By utilizing the PaySimple Solution, Sunrise Dental Care is able to offer patients the option of payment plans with the PaySimple Recurring Payment Module. Sunrise Dental Care easily creates an automated schedule for the system to automatically charge patients, using an ACH or credit card transaction, for a pre-determined amount, and on a pre-determined schedule. Unique features of the Recurring Module are the ability to use a secondary payment method should the primary method fail, and the ability to send customizable emails that pre-notify a patient of a scheduled payment, send receipt when the payment is processed, and alert the patient if the payment fails for any reason.
“We are able to put the patient on a payment plan in our system that tracks all of our contracted accounts. I run an accounts receivable report each month and it shows me the accounts and the total dollar amount of the accounts on contract. The emailed, automated Recurring Billing Report is exceptional. I get the notification of payment and I then post the payment to each patients account,” Osmanski said.

By utilizing the PaySimple Solution, Sunrise Dental Care has found that it has increased its already exceptional case acceptance and allowed the patients, that would otherwise have had to move more slowly with treatment, to be able to complete both the needed and cosmetic treatment.

We understand the power of being able to provide the dental care needed to change lives,” Osmanski said. “PaySimple has helped us provide these people with that option. I had a patient say to me, ‘I just want to be able to smile again; I want to go out dancing.’ We were able to help him do that. By utilizing PaySimple, we were able to complete his dental work, and that gentleman went dancing that Saturday evening,” Osmanski added.
